CISO, Indiana University Health As chief information security officer for Indiana University Health, Parker oversees cybersecurity for more than 30,000 employees at 18 hospitals across the state, along with countless numbers of computers, workstations and medical devices, making it the largest health system in Indiana — and the United States. His areas of interest include improving security governance, regulatory compliance, and working with a large variety of customers to address their business needs and incorporate risk management into all aspects of the business process. In addition to his work at IU Health, Mitch also writes extensively and speaks at multiple conferences. As a results-oriented leader who focuses on the processes behind why we implement systems to augment businesses, and the infrastructure required to support them successfully, Mitch believes that security cannot be achieved without a concrete idea of what the business needs are, how information systems meet them, and how their implementation and maintenance processes are managed to achieve these goals. In addition to serving as an Adjunct Lecturer of Health Informatics in the Department of BioHealth Informatics at IU, Mitch taught at the Fox Business School at Temple University where he also served as the CISO for the Temple University Health System. Mitch earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, his MS in Information Technology from La Salle and his MBA from the Fox Business School at Temple.
